INT. FARMER JACK’S BARN – DAY

A group of farmers gather around as Farmer Jack leads them to his beehives.

FARMER JACK:

Gentlemen, welcome to my humble abode. I’d like to introduce you to my friends here. They’re the hardest workers on my farm. They work tirelessly, day in and day out, to pollinate my crops and produce honey.

Farmer Jack opens one of the hives, revealing thousands of bees buzzing around.

FARMER JACK:

But, as much as we depend on them, we’re also responsible for their well-being. Bee populations are in steep decline – and it’s up to us to help protect them.

Farmer Jack explains to the farmers the importance of bee conservation and the current threats to bee populations.

FARMER JACK:

Pesticides, climate change, habitat loss – these are all major threats to bees. But, we can all do our part to help protect them. Planting bee-friendly flowers and reducing pesticide use are just a couple ways we can make a difference.

The farmers listen intently, soaking in the new information. Among them is JIM, a skeptical farmer who isn’t convinced bee conservation is all that important.

JIM:

What’s the big deal? Bees sting us, and it’s not like we can’t pollinate our crops without them.

Farmer Jack is taken aback, but composed.

FARMER JACK:

Jim, I understand where youre coming from, but thats just not true. Bees are crucial for pollination and help grow over 30% of the crops we rely on. Imagine a world without apples, almonds, or even coffee – its not just about the honey they produce.

Jim seems to have a change of heart – he had no idea how important bees were to the human diet.

JIM:

I never realized the part bees played in our food chain. I guess I’ll have to start thinking about ways I can help.

Farmer Jack nods, happy to have opened Jims eyes to the importance of bee conservation. They close the hive and begin to walk out of the barn.

FARMER JACK:

Gentleman, thank you for hearing me out today. I hope you’ve all learned a little bit about the importance of bee conservation. Remember, we’re all in this together – let’s protect our bee friends.

As the farmers begin to disperse, Farmer Jack stays behind to tend to the bees. Watching the bees work together, Farmer Jack couldnt help but marvel at their dedication.

FARMER JACK:

It’s incredible what these bees do for us. We need to do all we can to protect them. After all, they’re our hardest workers and closest friends.

FADE OUT.

END.
